STUDIEVÄGLEDARBLOGGEN

Blandad information för studenter på Institutionen för arkeologi och antikens historia vid Lunds universitet

What we mean when we say ”you could make an article about that”

I know that a lot of our teaching staff encourage their students to turn their papers, essays and thesises into articles, since publishing is such a big part of academic work, and I know this because many students ask me what that means. Recently we’ve had the enjoyment of seeing some of our previous and current students getting published with just such articles and here are two I can share today.

If you are, or have been, a student of ours and have had articles published that started out as part of your studies with us, and you’d like me to share as well, please let me know – I think it would be most helpful to our students, past and present!

Here are a paper by Sara Dahlgren, first presented in ARKN19, turned into an article in Historisk studenttidskrift.  It’s about Herodotos and his Histories and the encyclopedian tradition. https://journals.lub.lu.se/hst/article/view/23336/21320 It’s open access and in English.

And here are the table of content for Medusa (3-2022), a paper-only publication in Swedish that you can find in our LUX library, showing an article by Matilda Engbe. The article started out as a bachelor thesis about Agrippina the younger, but gave her a lot more to say, and some of it she says here.
